Every picture tells a story - but what story will your picture tell?
We've had this game for years and we still love playing it. The rules are easy to understand and explain, even quite young children and their grandparents can grasp the concept with no problem (you might have to remind Nana what to do every now and then). There is a special knack to getting just the right amount of vagueness to your clue, getting this balance just right is the key to success. The artwork on the cards is amazing, there is a lot of detail and it gives you a lot to work with when thinking up your clue. After playing lots of times you start remembering what's on all the cards, which can give you an advantage over less experienced players (sometimes this strategy can be a gamble as you're never sure what cards have been dealt). We haven't got around to getting an expansion for it yet (they are quite pricey) but we really should as they look fantastic.
What I love about Dixit is that it’s one of those games you Can play at the end of a workday around the coffee table. It’s easy to invite friends who haven’t played into, and one all ages can easily play and enjoy. Finding a sentence that doesn’t completely give away your own card as you don’t want everyone to get it right. gives the game the little bit of edge it needed. This is a game often pulled out from our collection and one of the few games we have brought expansions for, which adds variability to the cards as we play it so much!
