Deception

This is essentially a game of cheat. You have two character cards in front of you - you can look at them, but no one else knows what they are. Characters have different abilities (eg gaining coins, swapping cards or assassinating someone), and they can also block certain other characters' abilities. The catch is that you can say you have any character you choose in front of you and claim that character's abilities. Players can challenge you - if you lose the challenge you lose a character and if you were telling the truth, they lose a character. If you lose two characters you're out of the game. If you gain seven coins you can launch a coup on another player - meaning you get to take one of their players out of the game without being blocked.

I think this game could play very differently depending on who you play it with. It's much more interesting to play with people who aren't afraid to do a bit of bluffing, but it doesn't come easy to everyone. I think this is a game you really have to play a few times to warm up to. Games are very quick, so you easily play two or three games in a sitting.
