Girl on Stool is one of the murals included in Banksy’s 2008 New Orleans series, painted in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
In the image, a frightened young school girl stands on a stool to avoid a large but friendly-looking mouse on the ground. While the girl is stencilled in black and white, the mouse is crafted from the paint having been stripped off the brick wall in the shape of a mouse’s body.
It is an example of the artist’s clever ability to incorporate pre-existing wall elements into his compositions
