Recreate World War Two in 20 minutes! The perfect wargame for non-wargamers, Blitzkrieg! allows two players to battle across the War’s most iconic theatres, winning key campaigns and building military might.
Players draw army tokens from a bag to determine their starting forces and to replenish their losses. Rather than ‘fighting’ battles with dice or cards, players allocate their military resources to each theatre’s campaigns, winning victory points, further resources, special weapons, and strategic advantages as they play. Refight World War Two several times in one evening!
Includes Solo mode by Dávid Turczi.
Blitzkrieg is an abstracted war game in which you 'fight the war' by drawing tokens from a bag and each turn you commit one token to one of the five theatres of war. Tokens can be placed based different spaces of a theatre of war; ground to ground, sea to sea, and air to either. Placing a token gives you strength in that theatre (more tug for your side), but each space usually gives you a bonus, allowing you to gain more strength elsewhere, draw more tokens, add advanced tokens to your bag etc.
The box is hideous, but inside is one of the most intuitive and well-oiled designs I have ever experienced in a 2-play game for the level of choices it has offer. Commonly with bag builders I feel subject to the mercy of the draw, but not in this game, it always felt like there were choices to be made and as each player's core bag is the same; a weaker hand now means a stronger hand later. Does it feel World War II in 20 minutes? Not entirely sure on that one, but what I will say is this is one of the most meaningful gaming experiences you can have in 20 minutes!
