Clank! Legacy was my lockdown March-May 2020 game, played 2-player. Such brilliant fun, highly recommended. You'll want to get your playing group together regularly for this one, so be sure to be able to commit to that.
This game follows the basic Clank! mechanic of deckbuilding and moving about the board to steal treasures, with the addition of an ongoing campaign, game modification and a fun story. Unlike some Legacy games, here you end up with a unique, playable version of Clank!
Not much can be said without spoiling things. Suffice to say the games ebb and flow, sometimes encouraging more cooperative play, sometimes resulting in a fierce head-to-head dash to success. The story arc can sometimes feel a bit mundane (and it's meant to, in some ways...) but it always grabs you back in with some zany quests and true surprises. The card art and flavour text is up to the usual Clank! standards, with geekdom references aplenty.
My only negatives were:
The fiddly nature of reading passages and updating things, often mid-turn. I suggest having a separate small table alongside the gaming table to keep all the books and other requirements, to speed this up. This game is a table hog!
The Book Of Secrets fell apart around game 8. If you have access to a spiral binder, do that!
Minor nit-picks, overall this game is a blast.
The character minis are great too, and paint up really well if that is your thing.
