Bit Spicy

Dune: Imperium is a game which hybridizes deckbuilding and worker placement in glorious fashion. You will find that the game leans a bit more heavily towards the worker placement role of placing agents out on the board to grab resources/actions, but you need to really be observant of how you and your opponents build your decks as your card choices make a huge difference for your turns. This game can be fairly cutthroat and hinges strongly on both direct competition in the form of a combat phase round to round, as well as indirectly through a tug of war for limited point sources and key cards from the market. Critical choices on what cards to play during what phases of the game and what spots to take with your limited agents and restricted spots are the core of what you will be sweating over every round, but you best reclaim that water quickly because this game will have you in for the long haul. If you enjoy thinky games, with strong themes, a bit of back stabbing, and a lot of strategy then Dune is where it's at.
