Prince John is coming to Nottingham! Players, in the role of merchants, see this as an opportunity to make quick profits by selling goods in the bustling city during the Prince's visit. However, players must first get their goods through the city gate, which is under the watch of the Sheriff of Nottingham. Should you play it safe with legal goods and make a profit, or risk it all by sneaking in illicit goods? Be mindful, though, as the Sheriff always has his eyes out for liars and tricksters and if he catches one, he very well may confiscate those goods for himself!
Learn how to play:
This is a game for those who like bluffing games. You've got to keep a straight face when playing this game. The players will take turns playing the Sheriff to inspect any player's bag of goods. You can also bribe the other players to get the goods in the market to gain victory points !
This version adds a few expansions to the game which is a bonus.
The Sheriff of Nottingham games are really engaging, with a mix of strategy and bluffing needed for victory. You need to get your goods past the greedy Sheriff through subterfuge—or through the ultimate subterfuge of pretending you are using subterfuge when you aren't, meta subterfuge. And there are penalties for being caught bluffing but also penalties for wrongly accusing someone of bluffing so the mix of tension and entertainment is perfect. This is a great family game that doesn't take long to play and extends nicely for added players. Highly recommend!
